Sooth Inflammation, Boost Mood, Prevent Autoimmunity, and Feel Great in Every Way.

This is a fascinating book about essential oils. It includes not only the use of essential oils but it also gives the history of essential oils. It goes over the necessary safety precautions when using essential oils. Most importantly, Dr. Z recognizes the fact that each person responds differently to essential oils and recommends approaching essential oil use with caution and understanding. While they are natural, they can still do damage when used incorrectly.

I very much enjoyed all of the information in this book. The practical application parts were great. He took you from history to use in today’s world which I loved.

If you’re interested in essential oils and want to learn from someone who doesn’t have a vested interest in selling you a specific product, I highly recommend checking out this book.

Gardening is a learning process filled with ups and downs.

Spring Warren tells it like it is when it comes to gardening on her property. In giving an account of her experiences, she doesn’t just share the positives. She also shares her various experiences. Her sense of humor shines through in her writing style, and you can’t help but chuckle at her stories.

The book isn’t just about gardening. In many ways, it’s also about life. Recipes using the garden harvest are peppered throughout the book. While this does contain ideas about gardening in a quarter of an acre, it’s more about a personal journey of turning a regular yard into a garden that provided food throughout the year. Read More

Permaculture Promise

Permaculture is a design system that offers practical ideas for how humans can simultaneously provide for ourselves and regenerate the natural world.

The Permaculture Promise gives an overview of the ideas behind permaculture and how it can help our society. It gives insight into some of the ideas and foundations on which permaculture is built. It is not a how-to book on permaculture, so if you’re looking for a book on how to incorporate permaculture on your property, you’ll want to look for a different book.

Permaculture Promise

Book Description:

Permaculture is a sustainability buzzword, but many people wonder what it actually means and why it is relevant. Originally coined by combining the words permanent and agriculture, permaculture has evolved into an optimistic approach connecting all the systems of human life: gardening, housing, transportation, energy, and how we structure our communities.

The Permaculture Promise explains in simple terms why permaculture may be the key to unlocking a livable future on our planet. Author Jono Neiger asserts that humans can thrive while simultaneously making Earth healthier and not destroying it. The book shows 22 ways that permaculture can create a better future for all living things. Profiles of people and communities — including an urban dweller who tore up her driveway to create a vegetable garden and a California housing development that dedicates a third of its land to parks, orchards, and gardens — will inspire you to incorporate permaculture principles into your life today.

About the Author:

Jono Neiger is a conservation biologist, permaculture educator, and designer. He is on the faculty of the Conway School of Landscape Planning and Design and is a principal at the permaculture design and consultation firm Regenerative Design Group. Neiger helps organizations and individuals steward their land and create productive, regenerative human ecosystems. He lives in Leverett, Massachusetts.

Everyone should know basic emergency preparedness.

One of the things that I really like about this book is it has traditional treatment methods, household remedies, herbal remedies, and homeopathic remedies (when applicable). It covers injuries as well as emergency preparedness. It’s all well organized which makes it easy to find the treatment methods or emergency situation. It takes a balanced approach to treating injuries and points out when you should immediately seek out medical treatment. Read More
